"The first rock on the new artificial ice rinks at the McGarry Curling Club, Virginiatown, was thrown by W.C. Row, ....r of Kerr-Addison Gold Mines, limited, at the official opening last night. Waiting their turns are other members of the team, C.W. Ames, immediate past president of the TNO Curling association; A.M. Olson, past president of the McGarry Curling club, and R.J. Beggs, assistant manager of Kerr-Addison. It was a busy, excited night as club members crowded the lounge to see the rinks in action on artificial ice for the first time.
